Wesley Foundation breaks ground on student center
The Northeast Texas Community College Wesley Fellowship held a groundbreaking ceremony Tuesday to kick off construction of a new student ministry center on the NTCC campus. The Wesley Fellowship Board, which is made up of members of area United Methodist Churches, has raised funds for the project since 2006. The student center will feature recreational and meeting spaces that will be available to students, faculty, staff and community members.

The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation will host its annual Distinguished Lecture Series event on†Thursday, Feb. 5 at 7 p.m.†at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts.†This year's lecture will be presented by New York Times bestselling author Laura Schroff.†

NTCC participates in Lighten Up East Texas
Northeast Texas Community College will serve as a public weighing location for Lighten Up East Texas, a regional weight loss challenge created by the Fit City Tyler Coalition (see flyer below). The College will†also offer by appointment scheduled nutritional counseling and exercise counseling from our faculty and staff.

NTCC plans trip to Dallas Arboretum festival
Are you looking to kick off those winter blues and start looking ahead to spring? The Northeast Texas Community College Hanson-Sewell Center in Pittsburg is planning a trip to the Dallas Arboretum's Dallas Blooms festival March 17.
A chartered bus will depart from the Center in Pittsburg on Tuesday, March 17 at 7:45 a.m.††For those living in Titus and/or Morris Counties, the bus will arrive at Lowe?s in Mount Pleasant for pickup and will depart at 8:00 a.m.

Ernie Haase and Signature Sound bring Broadway to NTCC
The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at Northeast Texas Community College will host Ernie Haase & Signature Sound (EH&SS) on its stage Friday, Jan. 23 at 7:30 p.m. The group, which rose to fame in the Gospel community touring with The Gaithers, will bring their The Inspiration of Broadway show for the NTCC audience.
"Those who follow Gospel music will likely be familiar with Ernie Haase & Signature Sound. This is a great opportunity to experience their amazing vocal talent in a slightly different format," Carolyn Franks, Director of the Whatley Center, said.
