The NTCC STEM Club is hosting two Lunch and Learn sessions in April.
On Tuesday, April 15, NTCC students Isabel Tresidder, Gracie Gray, and Stephanie Hernandez, members of Dr. Chris McAllister’s BIOL 2389 Academic Cooperative course, will share their research conducted in Arkansas over Spring Break.

The Northeast Texas Community College Art Department will hold its annual student art show from Thursday, April 3rd through Tuesday, April 29th in the foyer gallery of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. The exhibit will feature student artworks in design, drawing, ceramics, photography, and digital media. A reception will be held Wednesday, April 9th in the Whatley Center foyer at 12:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to come, meet our amazing students, and enjoy the exhibit.
East Texas Giving Day is almost here, and the NTCC Foundation needs your support! While the big day is Tuesday, April 29th, early giving starts Monday, April 7th at ntcc.edu/givingday. NTCC has been the top fundraiser for the past three years, and we want to keep the momentum going!
Three NTCC Biology 2389 students, Gracie Gray, Isabel Tresidder, and Stephanie Hernandez, and Dr. Chris T. McAllister, Biology, traveled to the Ouachita Mountains Biological Station (OMBS), Big Fork, Arkansas, March 21-23, 2025, to continue their research on fish parasites from the Ouachita River watershed. What they believe to be a new species of myxosporean was discovered on the gills of a northern hogsucker fish, and another on the fin of a green sunfish.
The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently learned that it will receive a matching grant for up to $48,000 from the Texas Pioneer Foundation. The money will be designated to provide matching funds for gifts to the Work4College program during East Texas Giving Day. Alpha Mu Chi, Northeast Texas Community College’s chapter of Phi Theta Kappa set a new chapter record at the recent Texas Regional Convention held in Houston, coming away with 37 awards. “With a strong officer team and an amazing set of co-advisors this year, I knew that we would do well,“ said lead advisor Dr. Melissa Fulgham. “However, they exceeded even my high hopes and expectations and set a new chapter record.
