Thank you for your interest in the Cosmetology Operator Program at Northeast Texas Community College. The NTCC Cosmetology Department is licensed by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).
Enrollment for the Cosmetology Operator Program is offered once per year, with classes beginning each fall semester. The application for the upcoming fall semester is available on this page beginning February 1 each year.
Application and Acceptance Process
Applicants must complete the online Cosmetology application and deposit process to be considered for admission. Acceptance is based on the criteria outlined in the online application and is granted on a first-come, first-served basis until the maximum class size is reached.
Once the class is full, applications will continue to be accepted without the deposit and placed on a waitlist. If a space becomes available before classes begin, a representative from the Cosmetology Department will contact waitlisted applicants to determine interest. Once the fall semester begins, no additional students will be admitted until the following fall, as this is a one-year, cohort-based program.

Cosmetology Program Status: Waitlist Open
Our upcoming cosmetology class is currently full to capacity. However, we are actively accepting applications for our waitlist.
Applicants who join the waitlist will be considered if a spot becomes available. Openings will be offered in the order that completed applications are received.
Waitlist Application Requirements:
- Student Essay (Required) Upload a typed essay (minimum of one full page) explaining your interest in cosmetology. You may include relevant experiences, personal interests, and/or career goals. The essay must be written solely by the applicant.
- Letter of Recommendation (Required) Upload one (1) letter of recommendation from a non-family member who can speak to your character and work ethic (e.g., teacher, counselor, pastor, mentor).
Important:
- There is no deposit for the waitlist.
- If a seat becomes available and you are selected from the waitlist, you will be contacted with next steps, including deposit instructions.
Applicants will only be contacted if an opening occurs.

One (1) letter of recommendation from a non-family member who can speak to your character and work ethic (e.g., teacher, counselor, pastor, mentor). - $100 Deposit (Required)
The deposit must be paid through the online application portal using a credit or debit card.
Application packets can be picked up and returned to the Cosmetology Department or contact Erin Robles (erobles@ntcc.edu) for more information.
