Cosmetology

NTCC Cosmetology is a 12 month/1 year program, designed to train students in hair coloring, cutting, styling, texturing, manicuring and pedicuring, skin care, facial services, and makeup, and more. The program is approved and monitored by Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations, and meets all required criteria to offer operator and operator instructor training for students. The cosmetology program has been approved for credit hours, and this is a hybrid course. Students will attend face to face classes as well as participate in online training through Blackboard.

NTCC also offers an Associate of Applied Science of Cosmetology Degree.
Students who wish to enter the program must be at least 17 years of age, have a high school diploma, GED or valid equivalency of high school education. The class has limited seating, and anyone wish to attend should contact the department early by calling 903-434-8208 or 8209. You may also email dlovelady@ntcc.edu for information regarding enrolling in the course.

Operator students who complete the course must pass a written and practical examination in order to become licensed cosmetologists, and then they may begin a career in the hair industry.

NTCC also offer dual credit enrollment for high school students who are in their junior year, and who can attend the senior year.
