Baseball drops three games to Angelina

The Northeast Texas Community College Eagles (NTCC) baseball team dropped a three-game series to the Angelina College Roadrunners over the weekend.

Zach Osborne led the Eagles during the Saturday game and allowed the Roadrunners only one run in the sixth. The Eagles were unable to put any runs on the board and finished the game with a 1-0 defeat after nine innings.

Sunday's first game started with the Roadrunners taking an early lead in the third with two runs, the Eagles regained ground in the sixth when Jason Jones hit a homerun and scored along with Casey Dickerman. Christian Padin added one more run for the Eagles in the seventh and the Roadrunners answered to tie the score. The game ended in extra innings with Dalton Algiene taking the loss for the Eagles.

The final game in the series saw the Roadrunners earn one run in the second, followed by Corey Duran putting one run on the board for the Eagles in the fourth. The Roadrunners added one more in the fifth and a double by Jones pushed the Eagles into the lead in the top of the seventh with Dickerman and Padin both scoring. The Roadrunners answered with two runs of their own to defeat the Eagles 4-3 in seven innings with Oscar Meuris taking the loss for NTCC.

The Eagles baseball team will battle it out with Paris Junior College during a three-game series April and 5 at NTCC. They will travel to Bossier City on April 11 and 12 to face the Bossier Parish Community College Cavaliers and then to Carthage on April 16 for a single game against Panola.
