NTCC Ag to host Winter Forage Field Day

The Northeast Texas Community College Agriculture department and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension will host a Winter Forage Field Day on Tuesday, April 15 from 5:00-8:30 p.m. at the NTCC Agriculture Complex (across FM 1735 from the main campus). Topics and speakers for the day will include: "Fencing for Maximum Rotation" by Gallagher Power Fence Systems; "Winter Forage Varieties for Northeast Texas" by Kenny Rollins; and "Methods and Results of NTCC Seed Trial" (Agriplot demo) by Chad Henry.



This seminar is designed for livestock producers interested in developing or improving their use of winter forage varieties for grazing purposes. Winter forage productivity was tested at the NTCC Eagle Ranch using various planting methods of no-till, prepared seed-bed and broadcast methods for a variety of winter forage seed supplied by Crop Production Services. The results of the trial will be presented in addition to other topics relevant to winter forages.



Registration is $15 and includes all materials an a meal. Attendees can receive CEUs (one general and one IPM) for the pesticide applicator license.
