Here's a message from Mary regarding her†personal wellness plan?

I feel very undeserving of this notice. It has been a difficult year. Several friends have encouraged me to accept, and so I will do so. My fairly short words of encouragement:

Nearly eight years ago I quit a 2 1/2 pack a day cigarette habit that I had all of my adult life. Prior to that, I also quit drinking alcohol. I felt that I needed to do these things to better myself mentally and physically. In the process I gain a lot of weight. It has been difficult to take off. Two years ago I started exercising - an hour on a bike each day, and a lot of walking with my dogs. I felt much better, and actually dropped 30 of my gained weight.

I must admit that this year, I stopped my exercising to help care for my mother who recently passed away and is now with Jesus (and my dad). I have gained some of the weight back. I have started to exercise again. My plans are to gradually work back up to my exercise routine from late last year, and hopefully drop my gained weight and even some additional pounds.

I think for me, wellness is a journey, and I have a long way to go. I appreciate my colleagues here at NTCC recognizing me for my efforts.

Again, thanks for thinking of me.

Mary
