Eagles Baseball picks up win against PJC

After five lead changes, the Northeast Texas Community College Eagles (NTCC) baseball team pulled out a 3-2 win against Paris on Thursday, bringing their record to 16-9 with 13 games remaining in the regular season.



The Eagles finally managed to grab the lead after a strong eighth inning on an RBI single by Connor Hall, scoring Garrett Douglas.†Tristan Graham had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the fourth inning and homered in the sixth inning.†Zach Osbon shut-down Paris while he was on the hill. Osbon gave up just one hit, allowed one earned run,†and gave up one walk†during his five innings of work.



Tanner Buxton recorded the win for the Eagles. He allowed one run over†the final†four innings. He struck out six, walked two and surrendered three hits.†Paris? starting pitcher†lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed one run.†The top of the first saw Paris take an early lead, 1-0.†The Eagles scored on a solo home run by Graham.†The teams then traded runs before NTCC scored the winning run in the eighth.

The Eagles will be†on the road against Paris in a double header on Saturday and†back†at NTCC†for a double header against Navarro with the first game starting at 5 p.m. Thursday, April 2 and the second at 1 p.m. on Friday.
