Eagles Softball splits in tourney play

The Northeast Texas Community College Eagles (NTCC) softball team split four games in the Coyote Chillout tournament this weekend, hosted by Weatherford College.





The Lady Eagles stand at 7-7 going in to the last stretch of games before conference play starts. Hailey Dixon led the team during Friday?s first game against Weatherford pitching all seven innings and only allowing two runs, the Eagles rounded the bases six times to win the game 6-2. The Lady Eagles jumped quickly onto the board in the second game against Cisco College but, despite a strong opening with four runs in the first inning, dropped the game 6-10. Saturday?s first game against Hill college ended with a 2-4 loss, but the Lady Eagles came back during their final game of the tournament against Weatherford College to win 2-1 in extra innings.





The Lady Eagles softball team will travel to Midwest City, Okla. for a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21 against Rose State College. They follow that up with a trip to Longview to compete in the Crossover Tournament February 27, 28, and March 1.
