The Agriculture Department at Northeast Texas Community College is excited to reveal the season opening of the Fourth Friday Farm-to-Fork Farmer?s Market on Friday, April 24 beginning at 9 am.†The concept is simple and consists of two main objectives: to raise or purchase as many locally grown ingredients from east Texas farmer?s to fashion and design a truly fresh experience for lunch each fourth†Friday†and also to provide an ideal platform for area farmer?s to meet, greet and sell their products to area consumers.††Farm-to-Fork is an emerging and elegant, yet down-to-earth feast that inspires guests to be themselves in a relaxed, outdoor setting while learning and experiencing how buying local foods celebrate and support the farmers and the communities who raised them.
Students and instructors have worked to produce NTCC plants, livestock, and processed canned items that can be sold to provide students with direct marketing experience. Local growers are encouraged to come out, learn to present their products and enjoy meeting their customers in our state-of-the art LEED green platinum certified facility. Vendor applications are available at†www.ntcc.edu/ag†or contact Rene? McCracken at 903-434-8267 for more information. The lunch menu will be available on Wednesday before the market date on the ag department facebook page at NTCC Ag Department or by contacting the department.††Take-out orders available and season discount tickets available for purchase as well at (all four lunches for $35 if purchased by April 25).
