The community is invited to join Northeast Texas Community College for a Campus Dedication event as it celebrates the completion of a major renovation project. The event will be held Thursday, Oct. 26 on the main campus plaza from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., with remarks at 12:15 p.m. Lunch will be provided and guests are encouraged to explore the campus and check out the many changes implemented over the past two years.

Voters approved the funds for the project in 2015 and work began in 2016. From extensive underground infrastructure projects to major building upgrades, the NTCC campus has a totally new look and feel. Project highlights include complete overhauls of the Student Union Building and the Learning Resource Center (library), removal of concrete to create a more welcoming center of campus, new labs and classrooms in instructional buildings, student ?sticky spaces? and much more.

?We are so pleased with how the construction project turned out. The campus has a much more welcoming feel and we intentionally designed it to be comfortable, functional and conducive to learning,? Dr. Ron Clinton, NTCC Interim President, said.

In addition to unveiling the new campus look, the Campus Dedication event is also a time to honor those who have recently contributed gifts to name buildings and other areas on campus. These include the Charlie and Helen Hampton Library, the Burt and Nancy Marans Humanities Building, the Bart Scharlach Business Technology Building, the Bill and Sally Ratliff Computer Center and the Margaret Hinton and Guaranty Bank and Trust Caddo Collection.

?I encourage you to come to the dedication whether you are a friend of NTCC, former student, future student or you?re just curious about what we?ve been up to lately,? Dr. Jonathan McCullough, NTCC Vice President for Advancement, said. ?The primary purpose of this event is to say ?thank you? to the community for your support and to give you a chance to check out our new look.?
