Alpha Mu Chi, the Northeast Texas Community College chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, will host a two-night, 1920s-themed Murder Mystery Dinner event in the foyer of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts March 20 and 21.
Tickets are $20 each and includes a fun evening of sleuthing and a three-course meal. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. on both nights and will last approximately two and a half hours.
?This is our second year to host the murder mystery dinner fundraiser. Last year it sold out, so we decided to add a second night,? Dr. Melissa Fulgham, Alpha Mu Chi advisor said. ?Our chapter works hard all year and their conventions are really the culmination of their efforts. We encourage folks to come out and join us for a fun night for a good cause.?
Guests are encouraged dress in 1920s style outfits, but are not required to do so. The characters/suspects will be outfitted for the era and the setting is a 1920s speakeasy (of the non-alcoholic variety). The ensemble is made up of a colorful cast of gangsters, mobsters, their girlfriends and more.
Suspicious and exciting events will unfold throughout the evening and attendees will be asked to solve a murder mystery, as well as be part of the events. They will be given a program with the names of all suspects as well as for note taking and making observations throughout the evening. Clues will be made available on an evidence table.† In addition to the overall murder mystery to solve, attendees will also be able to participate in a silent auction fundraiser and other 1920s themed events such as slang and dancing contests. While all ages are welcome, the evening will include adult themes.
