The Northeast Texas Community Soccer Eagle Soccer teams returned to campus August 5 and have been hard at it with two-a-day practices to get ready for the season. Coach Dean Johnson has added the title of Head Women’s Soccer Coach as well coming off his inaugural season with the Men’s team, which advanced to the National Junior College Athletic Association National Championships last season. The Men’s team comes into the 2019 season ranked #8 in the NJCAA pre-season poll. Assistant Coaches Leah Stringer and new assistant coach James Quinn round out the Eagle Soccer coaching staff.

Both the men and women’s team went undefeated in pre-season scrimmage action with the women going 3-0 and the men 2-0. The women opened the regular season last Thursday with a tie against Seminole State. Both Eagle soccer teams will return to play this weekend at home with a conference series against Paris Junior College Friday at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. and again on Saturday against in a nonconference matchup with Northeast Community College at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. All games will be at the NTCC Soccer Complex.
