By: Dr. Andrew Yox, Honors Director

Miguel Paco, the 2018 Cypress Bank Scholar of Honors Northeast will present highlights of the recent honors film on Barbara Conrad, this Monday, February 25, at the First Presbyterian Church of Mount Pleasant at 1 p.m. Visitors are welcome.  The presentation will concur with a meeting of the Mount Pleasant Retired School Personnel.

Paco, the producer of the recently premiered film and its trailer featured last fall, will also be presenting segments of it this spring at the meeting of the Walter Prescott Webb Society in Corpus Christi, and the meeting of the Great Plains Honors Council in Tyler.

Honors Director, Dr. Andrew Yox, notes: “Miguel has taken every one of our technical challenges relating to the film in stride.  He safeguarded and brought to fruition hundreds of hours of labor, and mastered the complicated software of Adobe Premiere.  We are very thankful for his dedication, and skills, his cultural contribution to our area.”

Paco was a 2018 graduate of Mount Pleasant High School, and is a mathematics major.  His parents are Claudia and Miguel Paco of Mount Pleasant.  He recently released the entire one-hour Barbara Conrad film on YouTube, and it is accessible through the NTCC Honors website:www.ntcc.edu/honorsfilms.

The deadline for applications for Honors Northeast for the 2019-2020 year is 1 March.  Anyone with questions about the Monday presentation or the honors program can contact Dr. Andrew Yox (903-434-8229 or ayox@ntcc.edu).
