NTCC holds winter commencement

Northeast Texas Community College held its December Commencement Friday, Dec. 14. A total of 159 students received certificates or associate degrees this semester. NTCC alumnus Stephani Calderon gave the commencement address. Calderon, of Mount Pleasant, was an honors student at NTCC before winning the Jack Kent Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship after her sophomore year. She went on to attend graduate from the prestigious business program at the University of Texas at Austin. She currently works as a business consultant and lives in Dallas. Aleigh Bessonett (pictured), of Miller Grove, gave the student response. She earned an Associate of Science degree from Paris Junior College before graduating high school then transferred to NTCC, where she graduates from the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program. She plans to continue her education with Texas A&M-Texarkana. NTCC is now enrolling for the spring 2019 semester, which begins January 22.
