NTCC receives $5,000 Literacy Opportunity Fund Grant to support adult education

The Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC) Foundation, on behalf of the NTCC Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) Program, was recently awarded a $5000 Literacy Opportunity Fund Grant to support ongoing adult education services to help students improve their literacy skills and achieve their educational and career goals. Additionally, the funds will help to expand educational resources and support student success. “NTCC AEL is honored to be a funding recipient of the ProLiteracy grant,” shared Fredia Thomas, Director of Adult Education. “This grant allows our AEL to expand its capacity and better meet the needs of adult learners in our community. With ProLiteracy’s support, we are able to provide meaningful, high-impact instruction that will help our students move forward with confidence. About Northeast Texas Community College Adult Education and Literacy 
The Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) Program at Northeast Texas Community College is a grant-based program funded by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). AEL services include Adult Basic Education (ABE), General Educational Development (GED) and English as a Second Language (ESL) preparation. Classes are offered through face-to-face and/or online instruction and at no cost to students.
