Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC) hosted its annual Scare Affair on Friday, October 31, and despite earlier weather-related delays and a reduced number of booths, the event was a tremendous success. This year’s celebration raised an impressive $7,348.25 to support NTCC student clubs and organizations.
Originally scheduled for October 25, the Halloween-themed community event was postponed due to severe weather concerns. Even with the rescheduled date and fewer booths than planned, attendance remained strong as families from across the region came out to enjoy games, candy, and festive fun on the NTCC campus.
“This wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work and heart of the NTCC Eagle Senate SGA, the NTCC CARE Center, our amazing clubs and organizations, Plant Services, the Student Services Team, and everyone who pitched in to make this event such a success,” said Ja’Quacy Minter, NTCC Director of Student Development. “We were thrilled to see the community show up in such a big way. Even with the challenges, it turned out to be an incredible night.”
Scare Affair is one of NTCC’s most popular annual traditions, bringing together students, faculty, staff, and community members for an evening of family-friendly Halloween fun. Proceeds from the event help support student life initiatives, campus programming, and club activities throughout the year.
“My first fall semester as Director of Student Development has been packed with unforgettable memories, laughter, teamwork, and growth,” Minter added. “From the bottom of my heart—thank you for showing up, showing out, and making NTCC shine brighter than ever.”
