Northeast Texas Community College celebrated Independence Day with a festive picnic on Thursday, July 2, at the Eagle's Nest outside the Student Union Building. The event brought together students, faculty, staff, veterans, and guests for an afternoon of food, fellowship, and patriotic spirit.

Attendees enjoyed a classic summer cookout featuring free hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans, chips, and popsicles while gathering to honor veterans, active-duty military members, and the families who support them. Many participants showed their patriotic pride by wearing red, white, blue, and camouflage.

"This event is a chance for us to pause and recognize the sacrifices made by our veterans, active-duty service members, and their families while celebrating the freedoms we all share," said JaQuacy Minter, Director of Student Development. "It's always encouraging to see our campus community come together in such a meaningful way."

NTCC extends its appreciation to the Student Development and Student Services teams for organizing and hosting the event. Their hard work helped create an afternoon that celebrated service, strengthened community connections, and reminded everyone of the importance of honoring those who have served our country.
