Welcome home, Eagles! Northeast Texas Community College teamed up with Living Truth Fellowship, the Mount Pleasant Titus County Chamber of Commerce, First Baptist Church Mount Pleasant, and Great Western Dining this week to host a free cookout lunch for residential students and their families on move-in day.
Thursday marked the official move-in day for most students living on campus as they prepare for the fall semester, which begins Monday, Aug. 24. NTCC is home to more than 200 residential students during the semester, including students from several countries around the world.
Move-in day brought together NTCC faculty and staff, community volunteers and local organizations to welcome students and help them get settled into their new home. Everyone enjoyed burgers fresh off the grill and a huge variety of homemade desserts.
“We want our students to feel like they are part of the NTCC community from the moment they arrive on campus,” Mason May, Director of Work4College and event organizer, said. “It means a lot to see so many people from the college and our local community come together to welcome them and their families. It’s a great way to start the new semester.”
