The first week of classes can be a stressful time in the life of a college student. To help alleviate this stress, and to encourage students to meet new people, we have planned a Welcome Back Social for students, faculty and staff. NTCC open Saturday from 8-Noon



Northeast Texas Community College will be open from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Jan. 16 to assist students who need assistance finalizing registration for the Spring 2016 semester. Students will have the opportunity to make payments, check on financial aid status, turn in financial aid or admissions documentation and make schedule adjustments.





The College Store will also be open during this time to allow students to purchase books and other supplies.

Math, science students learn about environmental engineering

Kenneth Irizarry, P.E.,†Professor of Engineering, recently spoke to students attending the monthly Math/Science Student Organization.† In his presentation entitled ?Environmental Engineering?, he talked about the required credentials, industry needs, and example projects for a career in this field of engineering.

Honors Northeast to premiere new historical film

The Northeast Texas Community College Webb Society and Honors Northeast Present will premiere their new original film†Two for One: The Story of Ma and Pa Ferguson on†Friday, Feb. 5 at 7 p.m. in the†Whatley Center for the Performing Arts.


Jim ?Pa" Ferguson came to power by backing tenant farmers and avoiding the issue of alcohol.

Free GED, ESL classes scheduled

The Adult Education Department at Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC) will offer free General Education Development (GED) and English as a Second Language (ESL) classes at various locations beginning in January. Honors Northeast attends NCHC meeting in Chicago

Five sophomore Northeast Texas Community College Honors students, in addition to Honors professors Dr. Mary Hearron and Dr. Andrew Yox,†recently†represented NTCC at the 50th Anniversary meeting of the National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC) in Chicago. The NCHC is the premier association of honors programs and honors colleges in the nation. NTCC is the only community college to have featured scholarly student presenters at the yearly NCHC continuously since 2008.

NCHC committees select proposals to present on the basis of appeal, previous awards, and scholarly promise.
