Adjunct Faculty - Nursing/LVN

Classification: Faculty
Status: Part Time
Minimum Salary: Varies

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

  • Teaching PCT and VN courses (Lecture/Lab/Clinical) to include (but not limited to): course preparation, grading, use of BlackBoard online platform, remediation, exam development, incorporation of ATI into lesson plan, relationships with clinical sites and preceptors, etc.
  • Actively participate in department meetings, projects and assigned tasks as available
  • Adhere to NTCC policies and procedures as described in the NTCC catalog, NTCC faculty handbook, NTCC staff handbook, and Department of Nursing handbook
  • Other duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

The applicant must be knowledgeable in course content and effective in teaching their assigned subjects, and capable through academic preparation, training, and experience to teach the courses or topics to which they are assigned.  Applicant must possess:

  • Hold a current license or privilege to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Texas
  • Has been actively employed in nursing during the past two (2) years of the last three (3) years
  • If not actively employed in nursing during the past three (3) years, the prospective faculty's advanced preparation in nursing, nursing education, and nursing administration shall be considered
  • Prior relevant nursing employment
  • Experience with ATI preferred
  • Experience with online teaching with BlackBoard or other online platform preferred
  • Associate Degree in Nursing Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Preferred
