Intensive study of and practice in professional settings. Focus on the types of documents necessary to make decisions and take action on the job such as proposals reports instructions policies and procedures email messages letters and descriptions of products and services. Practice individual and collaborative processes involved in the creation of ethical and efficient documents.

Topics for this course shall include the history and philosophy of criminal justice and ethical considerations; crime defined: its nature and impact; overview of criminal justice system; law enforcement; court system; prosecution and defense; trial processes; corrections.

The course provides the student with foundational information about the U.S. legal system and dispute resolution and their impact on business. The Associate of Applied Science in Criminal Justice with an Administrative Emphasis is designed for individuals who want to level up their careers and prepare for leadership roles within the criminal justice field. This program combines foundational criminal justice education with practical administrative and management skills needed in today’s workforce.
 

Students will gain knowledge in areas such as criminal law, ethics, supervision, communication, and organizational leadership, while developing the professional competencies required to work effectively in agencies such as law enforcement, corrections, courts, and private security. The administrative focus helps students build skills in decision-making, leadership, report writing, and workplace management.
