Theatre Northeast, the student theatre group of Northeast Texas Community College, will present the play Killer Halloween by Dennis SneeOctober 26-29 at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. The thriller/comedy will provide the right amount of scares and laughs for the season.
Set on Halloween in the small Midwestern town of Shudderville, where for on each of the preceding seven Halloweens, one or more Shudderville teenagers has been stabbed, slashed, bludgeoned, strangled, dismembered, disemboweled or otherwise killed in a really icky way. The killer remains at large. Undaunted, high schoolers Anna and her slightly flaky friends Sue and Joanie, make big plans: a fabulous party, then a Halloween Midnight concert by the boy group pop sensation, 5 Cute Guys. Nevertheless, in the tradition of all stories that feature rebellious teenagers in the face of evil, it all goes horribly wrong.
The cast includes Benjamin Ruland, Alyssa Saunders, Chad Kennedy, Elizabeth Taraba and Megan Moore of Pittsburg; Francisco Arroyo of Chapel Hill; Alyson Cortez and Vasti Mejia of Mount Pleasant; Keli Rymer of Lago Vista, TX; and Lilly Haack of Wenona, IL. The performance will be directed by Martin Holden.

The October 26-28 performances begin at 7:30 p.m. and the October 29 matinee is at 2:05 p.m. General admission is $10 for adults, $8 for students, $5 for NTCC faculty and staff and senior citizens and free for NTCC students with valid ID.
