If you ask most people what the Shelby brand is known for, they would probably reply with something related to cars, especially Ford Mustangs. An avid enthusiast would probably be aware of many different types of vehicles that Carroll Shelby played a significant role in their creation. In 2026, Ford and Shelby American celebrate many anniversaries, most notably the 60th anniversary of the Ford win at the 24 Hours of Le Mans race, when three Ford GT40’s crossed the finish line to win the race. A more recent anniversary is that of the Shelby truck line that began production in 2016.

The Carroll Shelby Automotive Student Institute (CSAI) participated in the Annual Shelby Car Show in Plano, Texas, on May 30. The event was hosted by Third Coast Bank, the Shelby family, and the Shelby Cobra Association of Texas (SCAT).

The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received a $50,000 gift from the Carroll Shelby Foundation. Pictured (from left) is Jimmy Smith, NTCC Dean of Workforce; Aaron Shelby, Co-President, Carroll Shelby Foundation; and Austin Maness, Director of the Carroll Shelby Automotive Institute. The funds provided scholarships for the 2025-2026 academic year for students in the Carroll Shelby Automotive Institute.

Steve and Weida Borkowski recently presented the Northeast Texas Community College Foundation with a $1,000 scholarship. The funds will provide a Work4College scholarship to support a student in NTCC's Carroll Shelby Automotive Institute this summer.

The Carroll Shelby Automotive Institute will host an Open House and Dyno Day on Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Northeast Texas Community College.

Students from the Carroll Shelby Automotive Program at Northeast Texas Community College attended the annual SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada last week. In addition to attending one of the largest automotive trade shows in the world, students also had the opportunity to attend a special event at the Carroll Shelby Heritage Center at the invitation of Shelby American and the Carroll Shelby Foundation.
