Our comprehensive field of study enables students to develop a thorough understanding of the discipline of theatre—its processes, products, and its unique ability to capture with depth and passion the truths of human experience. The curriculum offers 25 hours in theatre, including courses in performance, stage make up, history and stagecraft. Our program features a diverse array of production opportunities, with a minimum of four plays produced annually. We have two modern performance venues on campus: the 600 seat Whatley Center for the Performing Arts, with proscenium stage, revolve and “state of the art” computerized lighting and sound board. The other space is our intimate studio theatre with flexible seating for arena style productions. Past productions include Pulitzer Prize winning comedies and dramas, Broadway musicals, mysteries and an annual Children’s Play (produced to over 4000 area school children each year.)
