Northeast to offer small engine repair class

Are you new to small engines and just don't know where to start? If so, the Northeast Texas Community College Continuing Education Department has an upcoming course for you. Small Engine Repair for the Beginner will be offered on Thursday nights from September 25 through November 13. The class meets from 6:00-8:30 p.m. at the Pittsburg High School Career and Technology Building.

Four-cycle theory is the heart of what makes a small engine tick.

Free GED and ESL courses offered this fall



The Adult Education Department at Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC) will offer free General Education Development (GED) classes and English as a Second Language (ESL) classes at various locations throughout the area this fall. All students must in enroll in an orientation session before beginning classes. See the orientation schedule/contact information below:

Northeast Police Academy accepting applications

The Northeast Police Academy at Northeast Texas Community College will offer both day and evening academy options this fall. Both programs will be held in the state-of-the-art criminal justice facility on the main NTCC campus.



The 17-week daytime fast-track academy will begin on August 25. Courses meet from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. This intensive program is the fastest route to becoming a certified peace officer.

Tonya Taylor gives nursing scholarships

Tonya Taylor,†Assistant Professor of Nursing at†Northeast Texas Community College, recently gave $1,200 to the NTCC Foundation to provide two scholarships for nursing students. The gift was given in memory of Margie Bragg, an NTCC Nursing graduate from Mount Pleasant who worked in the field for many years. Taylor noted that she hopes the scholarships will help carry on the caring spirit Bragg gave every day. Taylor is pictured above (left) with Nita May, NTCC Director of Development.

W.G. Foster gives $5,000 to NTCC Work Scholarship Program

W.G. Foster, a long-time resident of Morris County, recently gave $5,000 to sponsor five†students in the Northeast Texas Community College pilot Work Scholarship Program this summer. Students complete NTCC phlebotomy training

The Northeast Texas Community College department of Continuing Education and Corporate Training recently honored 12 students who completed the spring Phlebotomy program. The 200-hour certificate in Phlebotomy prepares students for a career drawing blood in various healthcare settings.
