From November 7th through November 9th, Phi Theta Kappa partnered with Social Work to celebrate First-Generation students, faculty, and staff members at NTCC. Each day during the activity period, Alpha Mu Chi President Monserrat Rivero Sanchez facilitated a workshop in SUB 101 that featured critical skills and aspects to benefit first-generation students. Tuesday’s workshop was titled, “Resume Writing, Scholarships, and Interview Tips.” During the first workshop, chapter treasurer Michelle Calderon expanded on topics such as, what it means to be first-generation.

The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation is pleased to announce that seven NTCC employees have been awarded funds through the 2023 Whatley Employee Enhancement Grant. The Foundation received 13 outstanding applications. A total of $16,470 was awarded through the grant.

The Northeast Texas Community College Continuing Education and Corporate Training department facilitated a seven-hour professional development leadership training for UT Health Pittsburg and UT Health Quitman at NTCC's Hanson Sewell Center this week.
Thirty participants were engaged in this initiative, which was aimed at providing them with crucial skills for effective leadership in their respective healthcare sectors.
UT Health was able to leverage funds from a $25,000 grant that the Pittsburg Economic Development Corporation generously
Quilts by local quilters will hang in the Whatley Center foyer in what is now an annual tradition for the NTCC art department. For the seventh year, quilters will bring their treasured art to share with the community. The exhibit will run from Friday, Nov. 10th through Wednesday, Nov. 30th. A reception is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 30th at 12:30 p.m. in the Whatley Center foyer, and refreshments will be served.
