The Continuing Education and Corporate Training department at Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC) conducted a CPR training session for local industry partner, Scot Industries on October 24. The training was well received, with the company praising the college’s efforts to prioritize safety and ensure their employees are prepared for emergency situations.
Northeast Texas Community College Continuing Education is looking to expand firearms training opportunities and is asking the community to help determine what classes should be offered.
NTCC is partnering with local company Cornerstone Training Academy to offer firearms training utilizing the college’s state-of-the-art indoor firing range. A Texas License to Carry (LTC) course is already planned, and the college hopes to add additional training based on community interest.
Northeast Texas Community College will offer a Texas License to Carry handgun course on Saturday, Nov. 7, beginning at 8 a.m. The class will be held at the NTCC Police Department and costs $125.
The Northeast Texas Community College Professional Driving Academy recently partnered with the City of Mt. Pleasant Public Works Department to provide CDL Class B training for eight city employees.
Northeast Texas Community College will offer an eight-week Phlebotomy Technician training program Oct. 20 through Dec. 8. The hybrid program combines online learning with in-person clinical training, with classes meeting Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30–9:30 p.m. Tuition is $1,000 for the class and clinical training or $750 for the class only. Limited financial assistance may be available.
Looking for a fun way to get active and learn one of the fastest-growing sports around? NTCC Continuing Education will offer another pickleball class this fall.
The class will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from Oct. 13-Nov. 5, from 6-7:30 p.m. at the NTCC tennis courts. Marc Levesque will serve as instructor.
There’s still time to start training for a new career this fall. Northeast Texas Community College is enrolling students in its Plumber Pre-Apprentice Program, which begins Sept. 8, and financial assistance of up to $2,500 may be available for qualified students.
The Northeast Texas Community College Vet Assistant program recently celebrated its third graduating class on Monday, August 10, 2026.

Northeast Texas Community College wrapped up another successful year of Kids Discovery College, welcoming more than 110 young campers to campus for two weeks of hands-on learning, creativity and fun. With more than a dozen engaging classes covering everything from science and technology to theater, art and sports, the program gave local children the opportunity to learn new skills while making lasting summer memories.
