Annual Report of Program Outcomes
Based upon the most recent Annual Report Form submitted to the Medical Assisting Education Review Board (MAERB) and the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), the program Retention results of the Associate in Applied Science Degree for the Medical Assisting program at Northeast Texas Community College, Mt. Pleasant, Texas has a 5-year retention rate of 84.62% for the years 2019-2023.
Additionally, Northeast’s Medical Assisting Program has a 88.71% 5-year cumulative Credentialing Examination passage rate.
Other Services for Medical Assistant Students
Modern laboratories for science, technology, and creative and performing arts
- The Learning Resource Center, which houses a 30,000 volume library and computers with Internet access for student use.
- The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts which houses an art gallery, instructional stages for drama, and music practice rooms.
- A Physical Fitness Annex featuring Nautilus equipment and lighted tennis courts.
Other athletic facilities include lighted fields for intercollegiate baseball and women’s softball, and an on-campus rodeo arena.
Program Fees
The Medical Assistant program is a 60 credit hour AAS degree.

In addition to set institutional tuition and fees the following special fees will be assessed for the Medical Assisting Program:
- $60 HESSI CMA Review Exam
- $90 Health Science Sim Lab
- $700 Lab Fees
- $86 Insurance and Drug Screening
