Job Duties:
- Delivers subject matter instruction in the Shelby Automotive Institute
- Manage daily program operations, including scheduling, shop readiness, and lab supervision
- Ensure all tools, equipment, and facilities are checked out, maintained, and stored properly
- Enforce safety protocols and college risk management policies
- Support faculty in preparing labs, demonstrations, and instructional activities
- Monitor faculty adherence to curriculum requirements and student learning outcomes
- Track and record student tool usage, shop participation, and compliance with lab procedures
- Coordinate with faculty on vehicle preparation for instructional use
- Maintain inventory of supplies, tools, parts, and vehicles, and report needs to the Director
- Incorporate OSHA certifications into the curriculum
- Oversee work-study students, lab assistants, and volunteers
- Provide regular updates to the Director regarding program operations, safety, and instructional support needs
- Supports students, faculty, and the overall program at various public events (i.e., car shows, Carroll Shelby Automotive public relations events, etc.)
Required Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in Automotive Technology or a related technical field required
- Bachelor's Degree in Automotive Technology or a related technical field preferred
- Minimum of three years of automotive shop, instructional support, or related experience
- Demonstrated ability to manage tools, equipment, and safety practices in an educational or technical setting
- Certified in NATEF/ASE and OSHA
- Certified as a master technician
