Program Coordinator of The Carroll Shelby Automotive Institute

Job Duties:
  • Delivers subject matter instruction in the Shelby Automotive Institute
  • Manage daily program operations, including scheduling, shop readiness, and lab supervision
  • Ensure all tools, equipment, and facilities are checked out, maintained, and stored properly
  • Enforce safety protocols and college risk management policies
  • Support faculty in preparing labs, demonstrations, and instructional activities
  • Monitor faculty adherence to curriculum requirements and student learning outcomes
  • Track and record student tool usage, shop participation, and compliance with lab procedures
  • Coordinate with faculty on vehicle preparation for instructional use
  • Maintain inventory of supplies, tools, parts, and vehicles, and report needs to the Director
  • Incorporate OSHA certifications into the curriculum
  • Oversee work-study students, lab assistants, and volunteers
  • Provide regular updates to the Director regarding program operations, safety, and instructional support needs
  • Supports students, faculty, and the overall program at various public events (i.e., car shows, Carroll Shelby Automotive public relations events, etc.)
Required Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree in Automotive Technology or a related technical field required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Automotive Technology or a related technical field preferred
  • Minimum of three years of automotive shop, instructional support, or related experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage tools, equipment, and safety practices in an educational or technical setting
  • Certified in NATEF/ASE and OSHA
  • Certified as a master technician
