For many pre-med students, the path to medicine is paved with textbooks, lectures, and hypothetical case studies. But for NTCC’s former Phi Theta Kappa Chapter President Alison Majors, that path recently led directly into an operating room in Italy, where she witnessed a routine procedure become a life-saving six-hour medical intervention.
Students in the NTCC Work4College Program participated in the annual Money Matters financial literacy simulation on Tuesday, July 7, in the Student Union Building. The interactive event gives students a hands-on look at real-world budgeting and personal finance while helping them prepare for life beyond college.
CHRISTUS Health Mount Pleasant has donated $1,000 to Northeast Texas Community College to provide CPR certification for all first-year students in the college’s Work4College program. The training, taught by NTCC EMS and Human Performance instructors through the American Heart Association, includes adult, child, and infant CPR, as well as AED use.
The Northeast Texas Community College Professional Driving Academy, in partnership with Ancora, continues to prepare highly skilled commercial drivers to meet workforce needs across the region.

Northeast Texas Community College's Adult Education program is now enrolling students for free six-week GED and English as a Second Language (ESL) classes beginning July 14. Registration is by appointment only July 6-13 at the Community Resource Center (Old Mount Pleasant High School), located at 105 N. Riddle Street in Mount Pleasant.
