Whatley Center kicks off season with RokDox concert Sept. 13th

The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts is excited to open its new season with a Sounds of Northeast concert featuring RokDox, an electrifying classic rock horn band, on Saturday, September 13th, at 7:30 p.m. This high-energy show will showcase iconic hits and dynamic performances from this talented group of musicians. Tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for students.

NTCC’s Phi Theta Kappa Chapter published in the national journal “Civic Scholar”

For the first time in its history, Alpha Mu Chi, NTCC’s five-star, award-winning chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, will be published in Civic Scholar, a national journal of undergraduate research.

Judges selected the NTCC Phi Theta Kappa chapter project, “Folklore Unique to Northeastern Texas,” from among 416 entries from throughout the nation. Only 15 selected projects appear in the 2025 edition of Civic Scholar.

Save the Date: 40th Anniversary Community Picnic is Oct. 4th

Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC) is turning 40, and the community is invited to join the party! Since welcoming its first students in 1985, NTCC has proudly served the region for four decades. To celebrate, the college is hosting a 40th Anniversary Community Picnic on Saturday, Oct. 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the main campus plaza near the Eagles Nest Pavilion.

My NTCC Story: Chad Elledge

Chad Elledge, NTCC Board Trustee

I graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1988. At that time, students in the top 10% of their class were given the incredible opportunity to attend NTCC tuition-free until they completed an associate’s degree. My parents encouraged me to take advantage of this, especially since I had a vision condition that brought financial and medical challenges for my family. Though I was initially frustrated—since many of my friends were heading straight to four-year universities—I agreed to visit NTCC.
