For the third year in a row, the NTCC Foundation is participating in East Texas Giving Day.
Joyce Ellison Currey Memorial nursing scholarship established at NTCC
The Preston Currey Family, of Hughes Springs, recently gave $10,000 to establish the Joyce Ellison Currey Memorial Scholarship at Northeast Texas Community College. The perpetual scholarship will be used to provide financial assistance to students majoring in nursing at NTCC. Joyce Ellison Currey was a nurse at Titus Regional Medical Center for decades and spent her career lovingly caring for patients and mentoring the next generation of nurses.

NTCC Foundation receives $10,000 endowment from Pittsburg Lions Club
The Pittsburg Lions Club recently gave $10,000 to the Northeast Texas Community College Foundation to endow a scholarship for non-traditional students from Camp County. Morris County Retired Teachers give $500 to NTCC Work Scholarship Program
The Retired Teachers Association of Morris County recently gave $500 to the Northeast Texas Community College Foundation to support the Work Scholarship Program at NTCC. Christi Denney honors memory of sister, Nita DeWoody, with NTCC scholarship
Nothing prepared Christi Denney for the loss of her beloved sister, Nita DeWoody, in October 2016. However, In the midst of her grief, Denney became determined to do something good to carry on her sister?s memory. With that goal in mind, she organized a charity 5K race that was held in October 2017 in Pittsburg.
Mount Pleasant Fine Arts Club gives NTCC scholarship
The Mount Pleasant Fine Arts Club recently gave $500 to the Northeast Texas Community College Foundation. The funds will be used to provide a scholarship for a fine arts student at NTCC. The group has been contributing to scholarships for more than 25 years. The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation is now accepting scholarship applications for the 2018-2019 academic year. Applications are available online at www.ntcc.edu/scholarships or can be picked up from Lori Hunter?s office in the Student Services Center (former Administration Building). The priority deadline for scholarships is March 19, 2018.

Whatley Employee Enhancement Fund winners announced
Twelve Northeast Texas Community College employees received a total of $15,473.86 in Whatley Employee Enhancement Grants for 2018. The Whatley Employee Enhancement Fund was established by James & Elizabeth Whatley specifically for NTCC employees to fund special projects and enhance educational opportunities that might fall outside the regular budget.
