NTCC celebrates August 2026 graduates
Northeast Texas Community College celebrated its Summer 2026 commencement on Friday, Aug. 14th at 7 p.m. in the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. Benjamin Gutierrez, Jr., an LVN graduate, gave the student welcome in both English and Spanish. Hailey Randall, who graduated with an Associate of Arts degree in English, delivered the student response. Russell East, Chad Elledge, Sondra Fowler, Dr. Gerald Stagg, and Kerry Wootten were in attendance representing the NTCC Board of Trustees
Student Services impacted by Aug. 17 in-service
Student Services will have limited staffing from 8 a.m. to noon on Monday, Aug. 17, while staff participate in a mandatory in-service meeting.
Student workers will be available to assist with basic needs, but some services may be limited or require follow-up.
Regular staffing and services will resume at noon. Thank you for your patience and understanding!
Limited space available in new Plumber Pre-Apprentice Program
There’s still time to start training for a new career this fall. Northeast Texas Community College is enrolling students in its Plumber Pre-Apprentice Program, which begins Sept. 8, and financial assistance of up to $2,500 may be available for qualified students.
Summer graduation planned for Friday, August 14th
Northeast Texas Community College will host its August 2026 commencement ceremony on Friday, Aug. 14th in the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at 7 p.m. Seating is limited, so only guests who have tickets will be admitted into the auditorium. Graduation will be streamed live on NTCC Website and Facebook for those who are unable to attend in person.

Vet Assistant program graduates 14 students
The Northeast Texas Community College Vet Assistant program recently celebrated its third graduating class on Monday, August 10, 2026.
Fourteen new students recently graduated from the program: Molly Brady, Vanessa Buendia, Susan Cassler, Sherlyn Castillo, Joni Figueroa, Emma Fortenberry, Eliana Johnson, Briel Kershaw, Alice Lopez, Ana Lopez, Manuela Paresdes Bradley, Juliana Perez, Emily Salaises and Carla Scott.
NTCC board proposes maintaining current tax rate
The Northeast Texas Community College Board of Trustees held a special meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 4th. Trustees unanimously voted to propose maintaining the college's current property tax rate of $0.11000 per $100 of taxable valuation for the 2026 tax year. The proposed rate is unchanged from the past three years. No other action was taken.
The NTCC Board did not hold a regular July meeting. A public hearing on the proposed tax rate will be held before the next regular Board of Trustees meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 25, at 5:30 p.m. in the NTCC Community Room.
Work4College hosts annual end-of-summer luncheon
The Northeast Texas Community College Work4College Program celebrated another successful summer with its annual appreciation luncheon on Wednesday, Aug. 5. Work4College donors, supervisors, students, and their families gathered in the Student Union Building to recognize the accomplishments of the program and thank those who make it possible.
